Joy McCarthy’s Joyous Health is not just a recipe book but also a source of education on eating for your health and not just for a fuel source. Almost the entire first half of the book is health put simply. She takes the time to discuss our digestive system as well as the different sources of food and supplements our bodies, as well as our minds, need to be healthy and explains why. She also discusses some of the items we should ditch to stay healthy. Joy suggests going through her book a chapter a week, or longer if you need, and the aim is to make one positive change a week.
