The novel starts off “Hi, my name is Hannah...and I’m a widow.” Hannah’s “grief team” includes a never-hit-the-big-time actress, a dog rescuing activist and a drag queen.
The author is a real life wife of a successful movie producer and her language is sprinkled with “LA’isms. There is a lot of social commentary and wry humour.
After her late husband John has been killed by a hit-and-run driver, Hannah discovers that her loss has given her the ability to speak to the dead. First, she hears from the elderly widow who previously occupied her home, and then it is John himself. It turns out the cops have screwed up their investigation so John and she must assist in solving the mystery.
The reviewer would rate this book a 7/10 on the ChicLit scale. The tone was entertaining and a bit steamy and they look forward to reading more by this author.
