I See You by Clare Mackintosh

On her regular commute home, Zoe Walker sees her picture in the paper, in an ad for a website she's never heard of before, called FindTheOne. Confused and disturbed by this discovery, she finds other ads for the same website, each with a different woman’s picture. With increasing concern, she discovers that some of those women were victims of violent crimes shortly after their picture appeared.

I see you is a dark trip into fear, fear of the stranger sitting across from you on the train, fear of discovering you don’t actually know the people you love. The story line rockets to a white-knuckle conclusion, and the final reveal is appropriately shocking. The reviewer is definitely hunting up Clare Mackintosh’s first novel, I let you go, while she waits for Mackintosh to publish her next book.

Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King and Owen King

As women around the world go to sleep the men around them realize they are not waking up, and what’s even more worrisome is the cocoon like gauze that seems to shroud the sleeping beauties. As the women of the world slowly disappear into sleep the men try to find a way to get them back, and when disturbing the sleeping forms results in disastrous consequences, the men turn to the one woman that seems to not be affected, Evie. She appeared out of thin air and is shrouded in mystery, half the population of men wants to save her, and the other half want to destroy her, but only Evie can give them the answers they seek.

In this remarkable father/son collaboration, Stephen and Owen King spin an epic tale that spans over 700 pages. The reviewer found this novel very entertaining and even though it was a slow burn throughout the plot line it held the reviewer’s attention right till the end.
